Does anyone have the data sheet for the Reticon R5101?
Thanks,

BEN:   Mos Eisley Spaceport. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious.

LUKE:   But I was going into Toshi Station to pick up some power converters...

VADER:   I find your lack of faith disturbing.

Is it an IC? What is it?

Charge Coupled Device:
n-channel structure
2000 sample serial audio delay
max sample rate = 1MHz
min sample rate = 1kHz
analog sig bw = 200kHz (-6dB)
S/N = 80dB
<1% THD
1-phase clock (TTL...Vdd supply)
(internally processed to 4 phases)
sync input
22 pin pkg.

ideal for t-machines...

Oh, what is he building, what is he building?? Check out www.wayhuge.com. Something is going to happen, I can feel it 8).

Paul Perry (Frostwave)

DSP clone of the Marshall Time Modulator? I'd buy one, if it had knobs and was under $200.

I was doing some research on BBD chips a while ago. I think the R5101 was used in some older MXR flanger/delay/chorus units. I'm pretty sure its as a BBD and similar to the SAD-1024. It has a reputation of being pretty awful: unreliable as heck, noisy and unpredictable. Even if one wanted to use the R5101, they are pretty difficult to find. Most references I've seen on the web regarding people asking about the Reticon part are in the context of finding a better chip, or reverse-engineering an old circuit that used them.

EG&G Reticon very well distinguishes between CCD and BBD...

The R5101 was used in the later revisions of the MXR Analog Delay.

Jeorge, if you found a pile of those somewhere, I sure could use a couple.  :-*

No I don't have any... just doing a little research. Yes, the later green MXR delay used them as did the Boss DM1.
Good stuff... nice and dirty!
