hey guys

the tap tempo on the boss rc-3 is pretty bad. i'm used to the accuracy of the tap tempo in pro tools - and the rc-3 doesnt come close - it's pretty clumsy which is disappointing..

does anyone know of a diy version of the visual sound time bandit?

edit: i dont need it to listen to clicks from an external source like the time bandit - i just want it to open and close a loop circuit at a certain tempo. ;)

edit2: one thing i have noticed with the rc3 tap tempo - it is more accurate if you stop the tempo before trying to dial in a new one. if you try and override an existing tempo it is not as accurate.

cheers ;)

Hi Ulysses,
have you seen this thread? Combined with a  Midi Padchokola and by replacing the NO relay with NC type it would do just that. I planned to try it on my RC-2 but didn't get round to it yet.

hey lars-musik

some really cool links right there! awesome work on the midi to tap project

the padchokola looks really cool too!

im thinking at this point i want something even simpler

maybe a simple 555 timer and a relay to switch on/off, with a knob to increase/decrease the tempo. prob going to be easier ;)

cheers!

I see. I am somewhat fixated on Midi Clock. If you find a simple solution (that actually allows to set and display real and honest BPMs), let us know!
