General Parts question.....

So, as a newbie, i find the idea of ordering parts for each individual project annoying.  From the more experienced builders, could you come up with a list of the *basic* parts that I would need to keep on hand for most any prject - and then i could supplement with the extra, specific parts for each pedal.

I want to build the beginner project (my only build to date is a TB box) and I would like to build a few TB's for some friends, but i want to place an order for parts so that i have a bunch of the basics around.

Are there "variety packs" of resistors, capacitors, etc?  Or would i be better off buying per pedal...

I made this page a while ago. The most irritating part though is that you will always come up with some part you need late at night. Always happens.

This is a start:

Cool - thanks.

I guess what i was really looking for though, was a list of the most commonly used parts/components, so that i can stock up and the order the parts specific to a particular project individually....

Here's a quick list that'll get you half way in many stompbox projects:

Resistors:
1k
2.2k
4.7k
10k
22k
47k
100k
220k
470k
1M

Capacitors:
10pF
100pF
0.001uF
0.005uF
0.01uF
0.05uF
0.1uF
1uF
10uF
22uF
47uF
100uF

Diodes:
1n914
1n4001

Transistors:
2N5088
2N5087

ICs:
LM741
JRC4558
TL072

Jacks:
Plastic DC jack
1/4" Stereo jack
1/4" Mono jack

Switches:
DPDT or 3PDT footswitch
DPDT toggle
SPST toggle

Wire.
Solder.

I guess that's a pretty good list to start with. Look at the projects you may be building and check out what parts show up more often.
