I just built the Tonebender MKII using the GGG's schematic and layout, exactly the negative groud version. I used 3 AC128 (68-90-120 Hfe, low leakage... under 200 uA). I used sockets for the trannies!
I double checked every point of soldering, like every time...right values of pots, resistors and caps...but nothing, absolutely no sounds comes out from the circuits.
I used millenium 2 bypass: when the effect is on led light up perfectly and in baypass mode all is ok...when i turn on the pedal no soud comes out except an imperceptible hummm....
Any advice?
I'm very angry because the MKII is a very simple project and I don't understand what's my mistake whit it!
Please help me
Thanks

1. Read the sticky in the top: What to do when it doesn't work. It presents a systematic approach to debugging and suggestions for how to report errors.

2. Build an audio probe and use it to find out where the signal stops.

This normally works for me!

Good luck

Is the AC128 PNP? Wouldn't you want the positive ground version?

Just checking. You need to check the voltages.

I'd check transistors collector voltages first:
q1: 8.5 - 8.8v
q2: 0.5 - 0.7v
q3: 4 - 5v

Then I'll check the bypass and the neg gnd wiring.
