hmmm - I thought I'd be clever (doh!) and find it on abebooks, but the dealers on there want like £20 for it   :o

Is anyone familiar with Mr Penfold's Practical Electronic Music Projects book?
You can get that for about £4, but I can't find any detail on what's in it. It was published in 1980 originally...

These books aren't hard to find folks.  Go along to amazon and use the search function.  They can usually be bought second hand for a few quid.  I've even linked to one place that sells them new (use the search function here).

Can't remember if this book is one of the Babani range, but they're pretty heavy on copyright...as one of our forum members can testify!

Anyway, nice score Marty.  Penfold is a great educator: even if you don't build many of the circuits you'll come away a lot wiser after reading the book.

PS  There are such things as libraries too...though that doesn't give instant gratification does it!   :icon_rolleyes:

A quick search at Amazon indicated the title is UNAVAIBLE.
They have a link there in case you own the rights of the title and want to make it available through them.

I got a copy of this book last year from Amazon. I came from the Kings County Library. Some the projects look very interesting. Some of the things look like they could be imporved upon.

My apologies, I was thinking of another Penfold book with a similar name.  Having said that:

a)  It's always worth checking Amazon periodically for second hand copies of out of print books as they do crop up (I've bought a few).

b)  A lot of Penfold books rehash circuits from his previous books.  Sometimes there are slight variations, but rarely are they totally different.  I've collected a number of schematics/books by him over the years and the usual suspects crop up time and time again; the only thing that seems to change is the publisher!  OK, slight exaggeration, but Practical Electronic Musical Effects Units is still available (if you know where to look) and has enough to keep most here happy.
