ACA boss pedals LED question

OK, I have just modded two ACA Boss pedals (GE-7 and an GE-7B) for some less noise and it works like a charm, but now I have a completely different problem; the LED will light up when powered, but not enough to notice (very very dim). Both pedals worked before the mod, both have now the same problem.

I checked the archives and found one topic on which they stated that ACA pedals needs 12V at least to function right (Boss ACA adapter); I tried and it works. Both pedals also works on 9V battery with a bright LED

Is there a way to fix this? I power the pedals with a DC brick and would like to see the LED's shine

The easiest and most generic way, without  finding the parts to short in each pedal, is to connect a wire from the pin of the DC jack to the -ve terminal of the *battery* (not the circuit).  This bypasses the series diode and resistor which causes the voltage drop; see boss schems.

Looking at a few schematics a blue wire goes to the DC jack pin and a yellow wire connects to the battery -ve.  I would not recommend following the wire colours since they could change from unit to unit, or there may be other wires of the same colour.  The wire colour can be used to check your connections.

Thanks man! That just did the trick!

OK: edit. It worked with my GE-7, not with my GE-7B.

I guess it is due to that my GE-7B is now carrying a blue 3mm LED; do they differ from the red ones (because the red one works); it checked

And how should I mod the pedal to get this blue one working?
