hi guys,
i almost finished my dc-2 build yesterday, just some components missing, hope i´ll get them today.
in the meantime, there have been some questions arising...
how do i do the bypassing since it is a stereo circuit ? do i need a 4pdt ? or, i think there is a way to get true stereo bypass with the millenium bypass ? or am i missing something ?
i used bc549c and 559c, are those to much hfe ? i also have the a and b types at home...
and, since i already tried a real dc-2, i know it eats a lot of low freqs, so i´d like to be able to do a bass mod like for the ce-2, which cap would i have to change ?

cheers,
lowstar

I just finished CE-2, but this one's on my list too.

I did a little drawing from what I think will do the trick:

I think hfe doesn't matter in this case since all the transistors in the signal path are used as emitter followers.

After comparing DC-2 and CE-2 circuit diagrams, I think C59 and C60 (and C62 for mono use) are the ones to change.

thanks, andre.
but if i want a status led too, i would need 4pdt with your drawing, right ?
i´m sure there is a way to get true stereo bypass with the millenium bypass...i think it´s mentioned in the tonepad small clone pdf somewhere.

back to the dc-2...after soldering in the last components, i had to do some initial debugging (without ic´s in place) cause i had several shorts (had two copper traces where there should have been none  :icon_eek: ), and i´m at the stage where the bbd lines don´t pass any signals... :-[
too bad at the moment i have a nightshift so i could not continue...hope i will find the bug tomorrow.

Changed the circuit a little.
Should work with millenium bypass now

FWIW, I think that the DC eats a lot of bass for a reason. Because it uses square wave LFO's which are 180 out of phase, if you had the low end in you may get a lot of unpleasant wobbliness. Then again, you may like that... ;)
