EH Toroidal Transformer

I bought an EH Toroidal Transformer and the input voltage is 12v AC. How do I achieve this? I know you use a rectifier to turn AC into DC, DC into AC? I could use a flat pack transformer to step down the 120v AC to 12v AC. I'm just looking for a convenient way to accomplish this.

Thanks puretube. I guess I have two choices: get a 120v/12v wallwart or us a flatpack tranformer before the toriodal transformer?

anything that gives you 12V AC (>500mA), isolated properly from the mains voltage...
