My Random Number Generator Layout

The fact that the tranny legs for Q3 and Q4 are bent means the layout can be more compact. And could go even smaller. I just spread it out a bit for now. Of course you could put the trannys in straight if you were going to use a feedback pot, rather than a resistor, but my layout allows for both. Whether its correct or not is a different matter.

Can anyone check it for me? I know a couple of people were interested in a layout for this!?

what happened to the 1M resistor from q1 collector to q2 base?
other than that it looks good to me

First off, sorry to bother Matt Pocket and Ambulance Voice with the same message as a personal mail but I just finally noticed the reply button that allows posting.

So, regarding Matt's layout, two questions :

Does the missing 1M resistor go directly from the collector of Q1 to the base of Q2 ?
Can I pop it in on the back of the board or with a jumper ? I've already populated and soldered and it's a tight and messy fit.

finally got it working using your layout to perfboard matt, thanks ! 
took me some time, but I think that's mainly because I'm an electronics illiterate :
I got thrown off by the trace from R5 to C4, thinking it was connected to the base of Q3 (If only I'd looked at the schematic sooner!), as well as the hole next to R8.

Hey everyone, I'm new to the site. I know this is an old thread but I was wondering what would have to be changed in order to run this off a 9v power supply? Just the plug instead of a battery and a cap across that or more? thanks

No harm in putting a 100uF filter cap between 9V and ground, just in case your PSU doesn't already have filtering. If you want polarity protection, put a diode in series like this:

PSU positive ----------|>|----------- Effect 9V
                                           |
                                           |+
                                          == 100uF
                                           |
                                           |
PSU negative ------------------------ Effect ground
