Hey guys...

I'm building myself a Rebote 2.... not the 2.5.  I'm getting just the unaffected guitar signal when bypassed and when turned on.  could you guys check out my voltages please?

the battery i'm using is at +7.87V

IC1
1) 5.05
2) 2.52
3) .01
4) 0
5) 2.55
6) 2.51
7) .56
8) .59
9) 2.52
10) 2.52
11) 2.52
12) 2.52
13) .01
14) 4.96
15) 2.52
16) 2.52

IC2
1) 3.89
2) 3.88
3) 3.88
4) .01
5) 3.76
6) 3.88
7) 3.88
8) 7.77

thank you

Well I guess not many have built this one.  I haven't built it either.  I have built the 2.5 and the Princeton (orginal) versions.  I will be building this one sometime but I can't help with voltages.  Sorry, and good luck.

jlullo

Thanks, Randy... that's what i was afraid of!

jlullo

there's really no one that has built this?

oldrocker

Is it PCB, vero or perfboard?  Look at the link below.
If you have an audioprobe it sounds like the signal is making it through the red section.  Check the green section and make sure the signal is getting into the the PT2399.  If so then check the blue section to see if the delayed signal is coming out.
That's what I would do.  I hope it helps.

it's PCB... thank you so much, buddy... i'll check that out!

randy,
if i probe pin 15 of the pt2399 i have a clean signal... pin 12 has a delayed signal.  i'm not getting anything at 16 though...

alright, i figured it out!  since i wasn't getting signal  when pin 14 was probed, i started checking around those two .01 caps that are going to ground.. low and behold, a bridge, shorting them both to ground!  Thank you so much for getting me back on track, Randy... i appreciate it

I also have to say that I seem to like this delay a bit more than the rebote 2.5...  i can't put my finger on it yet, but it seems like there is way less high end loss

thanks again!

I had the same problem. But it had nothing to do with chips. I used the audio probe and could hear the delay at pin 14 (if recall correctly). The problem turned out to be a an a mistaking connection between resistors between the mix and repeat pots. They should not have been connected but were. After I broke that connection everything started working.

Well I like the original Rebote (Princeton) delay better than the 2.5 also.  It seems a bit cleaner and the delay sounds darn good.  You're welcome.  I hoped I helped a little.  It sounds like you found it on your own.  COOL. :icon_biggrin:

Randy,
Thank you, you definitely did-  I had disassembled my first audio probe because it was falling apart, so mentally forced me to make a new one :)

is the version you like the best the two knob version?  i think the 2.0 is the same but just with the wet/dry blend

Thanks again!

oldrocker

Yes I built the 2 knob version.  Yes you are right about the wet and dry blend. Is the Rebote 2 at unity when not in bypass?

jlullo

yes it is.  Also, the cool thing about the wet/dry blend on this one, compared to the 2.5 that i put together, is that the wet and dry signals are not at unity with the blend all the way up.  you can make the delayed signal louder than the dry signal.  it's kind of cool and gives it sort of a reverse delay feel
