I've got some GT311J which I'm very happy with.

Looking at the underside, the pinout is:-

          . B

          . C          . case

          . E

not yet, i havnt got them yet
the only pic i could find was this

they are those ufo metal cases :P

i think i can see i little tab (possibly denoting the emitter??? like they usually do) on one of them

yeah, i think it is B C E
im not sure if it has that case pin, cause i cant see any
ive heard if you touch those pins it reduces noise or something???

There's no tab on mine. I can confirm the pinout as I've used them in a Tonebender build. Yours will be identical to mine physically, they will just have a different specified range for hfe. There's an internal shunt resistor in the can that makes the hfe measurements on my DMM incorrect (too low) so I've been selecting by using sockets and my ears! Connect the case pin to ground for noise reduction.

Good trannies (ГТ311В or ГТ311Б). But be careful when soldering, they don't like overheating.
