Well, they are both wired the same 'electronically', but are reversed 'mechanically'.

If you follow the method in the DIY FAQ, the pot lugs are labeled 3-2-1, left to right, when viewing the pot from the back (while wiring). When the pot  is mounted in an enclosure, you'd be looking at it from the front. If you rotate the pot shaft full counterclockwise (to the left when viewed from the front,) most folks would percieve this as the control being 'off'.

You usually will want to wire the pot so that whatever it controls it at it's minimum when lugs 1 and 2 are connected. For example, many volume controls have the output from the effect wired to one outer lug of the pot, the center lug goes to the output jack, and the other outer lug goes to ground. To wire this up in the 'normal' fashion, lug 3 would go to the effect output, lug 2 tou the jack, ang lug 1 to ground.

Good answer, I like schems that have a "CW" or "CCW" note ( clockwise or counter clockwise )
