Well, I am still a huge noob, but I'm wondering how to wire a switch. Not like...physically, but on schematics that don't show how the switch hooks up. I assume there's an easy way and I would be grateful if somone could tell/show me. Unless it does depend on the circuit...haha I don't really know.

Thanks in advance.

There's also the link to the DIY FAQ at the top of the page. It explains all that kind of stuff.

If you talking toggle switches....

I see it done like this:

Where each pole is drawn separately.
If a switch has more than one pole, a dotted line connects the poles to show they will both toggle.
The simple diagram above shows two, double pole switches.

But there are many kinds of switches.
If you have a look at some schematics at geofex.com or where ever you will see symbols like this.
Like this one...

Boss and other buffered bypass pedals use a momentary switch.
The momentary tactile switches use a different symbol.

Heres one for a four pole, three position rotary switch

Oh, here's a good pic of symbols

here's my take on the matter with a few visuals showing audio flow through the switch:

Ah yeah. Haha, I was talking about stomp switches. The first link did clear it up though (not sure how I missed it in the first place).

Thanks guys.
