I was lazily browsing thru the new schems today, here http://www.aronnelson.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=dynamicalbum.UpdatesAlbum&g2_page=3

I saw someone's been busy uploading layouts, eh?!  :icon_wink:

Been tinkering about some, also I wanted to build something with little components and FAST...
I decided to go for the One Knob Fat Fuzz

A quick glance at my parts bin, got all the parts so here we go...
But hey, wait...I got those big 1uF MKT cap, usually they are 3 holes wide...So I decided to redraw the layout, according to my space (and big MKT) needs...

Here is my layout...

So here's how it turned up...

I used a 2N5088, I read somewhere that it can substitute the 2N3904, also a 2N5089 would fit, I believe...
Well, I'm more into high gainers, Hard Rock/Metal pedals, so this isn't my cup of tea, but I enjoyed it much anyway!!!
It has got a...FUZZY sound (well... 8) It's a fuzz!!!  :icon_biggrin: - so no surprise... :icon_eek:) <---Sorry for being stupid
Nice tunes I believe to sound great with this little fuzz...The man who sold the world, My Sharona, some (sigh) white stripes...
Hopefully I'll post some clips tomorrow...Also gotta find an enclosure for this one...

For now a big THANK YOU to Dragonfly for the layout!!!
Done an' workin'=Too many to mention - Tube addict!

I believe it's close with some chorus added...

Also I remember a song from village people, 5 o' clock in the morning...
And some tunes from Santo and Johnny...
Plus a million others...

It gives a nice fuzzy overdriven sound that cleans well with the volume swells, also has a distinct tone-rolled-back sound...
I like it!!!

hi i just messed around with this again .for a bit of fun......heres the higher gain version....strange chords too...

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/7464107/okf22.mp3

i changed the input cap to a 10nf..(100nf was too bassy for me)..then put the whole circuit into a 386...with a 4.7uf across the + and -.

sounds better to me anyway :icon_eek:... :icon_mrgreen:

one knob and chip fuzz...ha ha..

Pretty nice clip Rob.

Just a thought... Has anyone thought about incorporating this circuit with a 386 and slapping it into a 1590A with a few 3V batteries....

Can you see where I am going with this?  :icon_idea:

This would be a pretty nice, compact, pseudo Pocket Rocket with Fuzz!

Good idea/Bad idea?  ;D

Doesn't "Fat" in the name mean "bassy"

...btw well done, I think that in this case it fly away from "fuzz" sound, isn't it ? may be "playing" with the collector's resitor to bias the transitor correctly, just like with a FF ? (not sure what I'm talking about!  :D)

finally got around to gtting this pedal to work! and it does... yeeeah! sounds really dirty on my yamaha sg with the buckers but hardly changes the tone on my G&L asat which is what i wanted to use it on. I'm searching for a "stonsey" type slight overdrive... any thoughts or better perdal projects for this?
cheers
