I have taken the time to make a layout of the Easyvibe by John Hollis with the Ramp Up/Down modification that was proposed by R. G. Keen on his website.  Would anyone be willing to take a look at my layout and confirm that it has been done correctly?

Additionally, has anyone made this modification before and used it?  I have not seen much discussion or info about this modification.

Here is a link to my layout:

and the PCB layout file:

I believe I have spotted two errors on the layout.

-one end of C3 is dangling. It should be attached to the junction of R6 and pin 8 of IC2 (output of second phase stage)

-there should be a 10k resistor between pin 13 and 14 of IC1 ( non-inverting input and output of third phase stage)

Both should be easy to fix, even on an already etched board.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to label the input, output and +9V pads.

Thanks for the help Rick.  I must have deleted those at some point.  I find the version of that DIY layout program I am using to be a bit slow.  Sometimes things happen mysteriously.

Those 2 errors are fixed now on the board and populated layouts.  I am still waiting to etch this one.  Should be fun!

The layout looks nice and clean.
Thanks for sharing it here.
Let us know how the ramping function works please.

Thanks John.  I shall let you guys know when I get my parts.  I have recently ordered them from Small Bear.

This was my first real layout (I did my own layouts for the Rangemaster and some simply fuzz circuits).

Again, I am not sure many pepole have done this modification, so yes, it will be interesting to see how it goes.  It will probably be the closest I will ever get to a Leslie cabinet ramping up and down.  :)

very cool!  I wish this was around when I built my version.

You'll just have to build another one then!

I have just updated the PNP file with larger pads for the offboard wiring.  I figured it needed it.

The width of the board should be 2 11/16 inches as well.  I might add a scale to the file later on.

I use the ramp up/down quite a lot and it's well worth including in the build.

To be clear Mick, did you use the modification of R.G.'s specific to the easyvibe?  Or did you modify the circut and use the LERA with this effect?

I have just uploaded an improved layout for this board.  After making my first board I realized that some spots were tight for the components and that I wanted to use a pot instead of a 500k trimmer.

I have the new board printed and just have to find time to drill and populate!  I can't wait.

I am learning a lot about toner transfer and making/designing  boards.  Sure is interesting!

I unfortunately can't figure out how to edit my original post to get rid of the old links.

Please let me know if you find this layout useful.  As well, if you notice any mistakes, please let me know.

Cheers,

Steve
