i've read a few posts here and there about chaining boosters together and i was board today so i bread boarded a pair of lpb's in series and i liked what i heard. i played with a few values added a few switches. anyway i'm sure i'll mess with it a good bit more and if you have suggestion feel free to suggest it.

i've been playing with it a bit more. i became tired of all the options possible with this circuit and decided to just stop and build. so far i really like it but i hardly call standing 4 feet in front of my amp down in my basement a proper test...my head still hurts. i set up the first stage to give a "treblely" boost and the second gives the distortion. i may end up adding a gain pot in front of the second stage.

my goals were to have a "treble" booster and to be able to add some dirt to it. what i built does both well.

You've already got a V-4.

What more boost/dist. do you need? ;D

Looks like a cool pedal man. I imagine that you'll be able to get some good lead tones from that pushing all those tubes.!

so far i've only run it though my sound city so i'm curious to see how it reacts to different amps. it's a loud pedal and i still have a headache.

just for fun, slap some diodes on the output on a switch. the lb sounds great with diode clipping IMHO.

yup, it does sound good with a pair of clippers at the end. i was tempted but i kind of liked the "wide open" sound without them. there are a ton and a half of things you can do to this circuit. i think i remember reading about someone running 3 lpb's in series? for now at least want to keep it simple and will have to hear it though some more amps before i can call it done.

just an update i changed the tail end of the first stage. the way i had it before caused a pop on SW2 because i didn't have a cap in front of it. the link above is to the updated schematic. oh and i added a 300kB gain pot in front of R6 and C5 on my build. i think it'll come in handy.

If you do it with SHOs you get the nuts and bolts of a Box of Rock so I think it could work nicely with LPBs toos
