Will this circuit work for lighting an LED from guitar signal?

I took this straight out of the clari(not) schematic.



The only painting program I have on this computer is paint, so sorry for the quality  :icon_lol:

Looks simple enough, I guess. Not sure what the pot does though, maybe change the intensity of the LED?

Have we got a tongue in cheek smiley thingy?

With the above circuit the light will be distorted somewhat as the 386 is set for max gain so if you want your light cleaner you'd leave pins 1 and 8 unconnected  :icon_biggrin:
