Extra gain mod for vintage Colorsound Tremolo?

I've built the vintage version of the Colorsound Tremolo using Andrew Carrell's layout posted here:

I used 2 x 2N5089s (510, 520 hFE) and a MPSA13G.
Also, the pinouts for Q1 and Q2 should be reversered for that vero, which I did.
It works and sounds really nice but could really use more gain a the output.
Right now it's a bit below unity, even accounting for a possible perceived drop in volume that you might expect from a tremolo.

Anyone ever try this or have an idea how it might be done simply?

Just add a boost section to the output of the tremolo (JFET could be nice).
