so i just built matsumin's tubescreamer vero:

and got it all together.  it was not passing sound at all, and when engaged the LEd would only turn on when the volume knob on my guitar was between 1 and 3.  other than that it would fade off.  i have the 3pdt switch wired as said in the faq without the grounded bypass.  i used a 0ohm resistor as the jumper for when the switch is in bypass, and got out my multimeter.  i had continuity at the resistor, but not at the place where the jacks were.  i have the part that is supposed to be wired to the pos battery terminal (pole 4) on the 3pdt switch ran to a empty hole right next to the +9 on the vero.  i cut that wire, and get a very faint bypass signal, but nothing from the circuit.

i have continuity from sleeve to sleeve, but thats about it.

In response to the questions in the forum - PCB Layout for Musical Effects is available from The Book Patch. Search "PCB Layout" and it ought to appear.

Strange. Can you post pictures?

You probably *have* checked this a couple of times already, but are you *sure* your 3PDT switch is the correct way round?

Doesn't explain the LED lighting issue, but it's one less thing to eliminate.

i have to admit, this is a bit difficult to follow....but the first thing to do here would be to bypass the switch completely and see if it works first.

i marked one black with a sharpie so when i twisted them coming off the pcb together i knew which one was 'out'
