I searched 11+ pages and can't seem to find the thread which had this link in it.
And haven't been able to tell whether the # of splines matches the 'T-18' specification for standard guitar potshafts. The only information I have been able to find about 'T-18' is that 'T-18' was mentioned as a specification # for guitar potshaft dimensions recently, and that the '18' refers to the # of splines on the shaft.
These shafts appear to have more than 18 splines, but it is hard to tell from the pictures.
Anyone try these out on [please enter guitar name here] a guitar potshaft enough to say how the fit feels on X or Y guitar ?

Was this the thread? I'm still interested in making my own knobs; let us know if you have any luck.

From my experience just with trying to find knobs and pots etc., I've only run across two split-knurled shaft types that are 1/4" or 6mm: 18 spline 1/4" and 24 spline 6mm.  Those parts appear to have 36 splines (I can count about 18 half-way around) so they would work with 18 spline shafts but not 24.  Don't know how the smaller "teeth" would affect grab though.

Someone suggested contact the manufacturer of the guitar...so I did...put plural as in 'guitars'.
I decided why limit my requests for potshaft DimensionS to only 1 major company, so I contacted a bunch of them, by phone, email and the 'enter question' boxes at some big seller manufacturers.
After more than three weeks, the info arrives:

     8mm diameter shaft

It's not the size that matters  :icon_evil:
All it takes to measure size is a set of calipers anyway...that's the easy part.
Perhaps the way I asked for # of teeth of the spline shaft, explaining how I want to make/find 'knob inserts' [bushings...] for my knobs put them off.
Of course it could be that the standard has been around so long that the actual blueprints and dimensions have been long since lost or otherwise unreadable.
