Title: How to reduce gain in a fuzz pedal
Post by: fingersoccer on November 16, 2012, 10:14:42 AM
I built a pedal similar to the Fuzz Factory based on this schematic:

The values are different but that's more or less what's going on. My problem is that the amount of fuzz is just overwhelming even at its lowest setting. How would I get the circuit to produce a wider range, from fairly clean to over-the-top?

Roll back your guitar's volume.. and if you like that. Put a pot in front of the circuit.

turn the 220k R between coll and base of Q1 into a pot. works awesome. 250k is ok if you don't have a 220k.

Those both sound like super easy solutions. I'll give one of those a try. Thanks!
