Title: Ross/Dyna compressor build questions.
Post by: alparent on December 08, 2012, 10:21:25 AM
I'm working on building a compressor with a switch to select between Ross or Dyna values.
(Does the difference between the two justify this?)

I also want to replace the ca3080 with a LM13600.
Any advantages in using both sections of the LM in parallel instead of just one section?

Amy comments on the work in progress is much appreciated.

AFAIK, the only difference is one bias resistor (220k or 470k?) If that's all it is, it's definitely not worth the difference.

Not really. But you could make a stereo versions quiet easily!

Might I also suggest my own compressor, the Engineer's Thumb (shameless! :icon_wink:). It does everything a Dyna can do, and much more. And better.
