Title: Bronx Cheer volume pot question.
Post by: alparent on January 18, 2013, 10:06:20 PM
I'm just finishing a Bronx Cheer using GGG layout. It works but the volume pot doesn't act line a volume very much. From 100k to 15k I get one kind of sound and from 15k to 0 I get another? Is that what it's suppose to do?
I will also change the .01 cap on the Hi/Low switch to a .022 for a bigger change.

But the volume pot is my biggest worry?

Thanks

BUMP

I'd really like to solve this.

Can't believe I'm the only one with a Bronx Cheer!

I don't know if this is your problem but I just had a look at the ggg wiring diagram and it's missing the ground conection from lug 1 of the volume pot. That would stop it acting as a volume control.
It also doesn't show a ground connection from the board to the jack sleeves, I guess you haven't built it like that though.

Thanks for that slacker.
Was just finishing a FOXX Tone Machine and it hit me when I was wiring it's volume pot.  :o

Hope that's the issue.

Glad you got it working!  I have been re-doing a Bronx Cheer for a friend of mine in the last couple of days...took out hard-wired caps (except for the output) and put in sockets for experimenting - wow!  I've settled on .0033's instead of .001's, and a .04 in place of the .01.

It's cool to get a sound for other people. Get's to widen your spectrum.
