Hey guys,
I am working on a 9V/300ma regulated and filtered pedal board power supply. I don't know much about regulators however.
Would this one be a good choice from going from around 12v down to 9v? I need at least 300ma...

Thanks in advanced!

Looks like it can handle up to 1A of output current so... in that aspect you should be good. If you are looking for a 300mA maximum then this would be too big.
Just make sure that whatever you are using to drive it (provide 12V) can handle it.
Hi
remember the heat loss too. 3V x 300mA = 900mW. All lost as heat. Maybe a small heatsink is needed?
Rough rule of thumb: if you can't leave your finger on it while it's drawing maximum current, the external case is 70C or more, and the internals are at risk of melting.
cheers
Awesome! Thanks guys!!
