Title: BYOC phase royal
Post by: Kipper4 on March 08, 2013, 04:14:27 PM
Has anyone built this phaser from scratch.
I'm considering doing it on perfboard.
Anyone got a layout for it please.
Any foreseeable problems.
This is a fairly heavly involved project for some one at my level.
I'd like to make a nice phase with plenty of options for control over the perameters.

I'd just buy the kit dude. Go nuts though if you want though. What you're proposing would be ambitious to say the least! Sourcing all the parts separately would be a pain too. Shipping, different delivery dates, different suppliers, etc...

My wooden 2c.

Personally, I wouldn't attempt it on perf.  Too many parts and wires.  If it works first time, great.  If you have to trouble-shoot, it would be troublesome on perf.

I can attest that Marks personal choice is good for Mark, and would have been good for me too ! !
I debugged myself into corners...it gets to be very hard to tell which of the very numerous 10k resistors is the one I'm trying to look at, at this time !
I did manage to get an EZ Vibe going this way, hafta say for the troubles and trials, the PCB phasers I subsequently built from...PCB's or kits with PCB's...definitely went more smoothly, more quickly and with fewer headaches.
