Title: Me gots new wah problems
Post by: soupbone on January 25, 2014, 06:43:39 AM
I've pretty much got this clyde mccoy wah from fuzz central done. There's a couple of thing's i'm un-clear of as far as the wiring.I'm using fuzz central's carling dpdt switch wah wiring; http://fuzzcentral.ssguitar.com/faq/dpdtwiring.gif  and here's the layout; http://fuzzcentral.ssguitar.com/mccoy.php  (scroll to the bottom for the layout) The 3 parts i'm confused about; There's no "wah 1" listed. So,i don't know where the wire coming from the 1st lug of the pot,and then to where? There's an "input" listed on the pcb.Does this mean it's going from there,to the "circuit input" on the dpdt switch?and the last one is,where is the "circuit ouput"?It's not listed either on the build. If somebody could help,i'd be much obliged!  ;D

The output of the wah is the clockwise (CW) terminal of the pot.  In the pictures you linked to, it's the blue wire from CW pot terminal to footswitch.  Counter-CW (CCW) terminal to ground.  (CW is close to toe end, CCW is closer to heel end)
Input is on the PCB.
Output of PCB is the yellow wire to pot wiper terminal.
Hope that helps!

I've almost got it.I'm using a old clarostat pot,so i'll have to use my dmm to find which lugs are ccw,cw,and sl.There's two outputs on the switch. One goes to the output jack "tip".The other output on the switch is the "Circuit Output".I don't where on the pcb that's coming from, because there's no "Circuit Output" listed on the layout; http://fuzzcentral.ssguitar.com/mccoy/mccoylayout.gif  So,you're saying there's a yellow wire coming from the pcb somewhere, which would be the "Circuit Output" to the "sl" or pot wiper on the pot? Thanks for your help!

Wah 2 is the output from circuit board, and that goes to middle lug of pot.
Wah 3 goes to footswitch and circuit board.
Wah 1 to ground.

Ok cool! So,wah 2 is the output?

The CW terminal (wah 3) is the circuit output.
The middle lug, the wiper (wah 2) is feedback for the filter... I think.
Maybe a wah expert, or at least someone into band pass filter topologies, can confirm or clarify that.
