Title: GE fuzz-guitar volume knob interaction question
Post by: Bret608 on April 08, 2014, 01:37:11 PM
So, here's a question I can't find an easy answer to. Have any of you ever built a germanium fuzz that only reaches max gain/fuzz when your guitar's volume knob is at less than max? This is my little problem child Supa Fuzz on vero I built last summer. I've basically been using it as a tool to learn more about fuzz, and with its many quirks, it's been good for that!  ;D

It gets max saturation with the guitar's volume up 60-70%; the min and max rotations are both clean or clean-ish. This is with the fuzz pot up all the way.

Put 47K resistor inside the fuzz, from input jack (or bypass switch) to fuzz circuit.
