SPDT and SPST dont differ much.

SPDT have a 3rd Lug.

So if you start on the far left picture and use the left most SPDT column. The Use the first and second lug for SPST and leave the 3rd lug empty.

But to understand better. SKIP ALL OF THE ABOVE AND READ THIS.

A 3PDT is just three SPDT's that get thrown simultaneously. Looking at this image:

(http://www.stewmac.com/freeinfo/i-1611/1611_dia5.gif)

If you only use lugs 1, 2 and 3, and leave the rest disconnected, you get an SPDT. (Lugs 1, 2, and 3 for 'a pole'. Likewise lugs 4, 5, and 6 form a separate pole, and so do lugs 7, 8 and 9.)

If you only use lugs 1 and 2, you get an SPST. (Or lugs 2 and 3, 4 and 5, 5 and 6, 7 and 8, or 8 and 9.)

Edit: ninjas everywhere.

@OP
Now keep in mind. While you can get 3 SPDT's or SPST's they can not be switched separately.

The zen answer is to get out your ohmmeter, a pencil and paper.
