Title: EXH Holy Grail Problem
Post by: slurprider on June 27, 2016, 11:17:25 AM
Hey so I my Holy Grail recently stopped working properly. It passes signal in bypass and with the effect on, but with the effect on it makes a loud whirring noise. Any idea what could be causing such an issue? The pedal is mostly digital components so is there any way to replace something if it is broken? Any help is appreciated!

I would check the solder joints around the footswitch, or possibly replace the switch altogether. Just a stab in the dark though.

Welcome.

> it makes a loud whirring noise

Can be crap power and poor power filtering in the box.

Are you using the specified power supply?

Can you try it on battery?

I'm using a One-Spot with appropriate EHX Adapter. and it cannot be powered by a battery.

Could a rusty pot and switches have something to do with it? The pedal kinda looks like it lived in the ocean....

does the actual reverbing work, despite the whirring noise? do turning the pots change the effect as they're meant to? if so, that's probably good news as it may not be the microcontroller area (the digital thingy) at fault
