Title: EHX Vintage Holy Grail Rehouse PCB Support?
Post by: mimmotronics on November 13, 2017, 10:56:06 AM
Hey guys! I have a vintage EHX Holy Grail which I'm in the process of rehousing. I'm employing two mods to it:

1. Extending the Available Number of Reverb Algorithms
There are three POI pins configured on the processor chip's firmware for setting which reverb algorithm to run. The stock Holy Grail only offers three, but there are at least 8 available on the chip. No problems with this mod, but if anyone is interested I will be posting an in-depth article about it on my blog when all is said and done.

2. Preset Reverb Settings
I would like to mod something similar to the Kinnatone Holy Grail Nano mod, but for the vintage Holy Grail (link below). To do so I will have to switch between two different potentiometers with an additional 3PDT switch. In doing so, I will have to desolder the current potentiometer...problem is the board is mounted via the potentiometer. Does anyone have ideas as to how to mount the PCB if I am to desolder the pot?

Thanks!

Bump.

Maybe I'm not clear enough? I would like to know of ways to mount the Holy Grail PCB. Foam is mentioned in this thread (http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=104043.0), has anyone had experience with this or other non-invasive ways (i.e. not drilling PCB holes) to mount PCBs?

Bumpety Bump

Hotmelt a substrate (card, plastic, foam) to the back of the pbc.
Hotmelt the pcb to enclosure, backs of pots,
Self adhesive Stand offs.

Chill.
