I'm building one of these.

I'm actually using for guitar. The only way I can get the filter in its sensitive range is to slam it with a 25 dB boost. I know it's meant for bass. Is there a way to make it more sensitive with out adding a boost in front?

Try lowering the value of the 10k resistor to the right of the LM324. Anything between 1k and 6k8 should make a difference. I'm not as tech savy as many folks on the forum but that's where I'd start.
It would help if you could find a readable schematic. I couldn't source one myself.

You can either boost the signal through *both* the filter and the envelope follower by reducing R28/220K, or if the filter volume is fine but the filter isn't reacting, you can boost the level through just the envelope follower by reducing the value of R24/220K. This is equivalent to reducing the value of R15/10K that Kevin M suggested. His suggestion widens the range of the "sweep" pot, which will gives you more flexibility, but might make the pot a bit "twitchy" if it's too wide. That's a question of taste.
