Title: Question about charge pumps and MOSFET reverse polarity protection circuits
Post by: Rambozo96 on February 23, 2019, 07:21:11 PM
Hello all I was building a clone of the Germanium Schaller fuzz with a charge pump and wish to add a MOSFET for reverse polarity protection. My question is in order to project both the charge pump and the fuzz circuit would I need a protection circuit for both the charge pump and the fuzz circuit or would having a protection circuit for just the charge pump kill two birds with one stone?

Thanks in advance

I'm not too familiar with the Schaller fuzz (Just looked up the circuit), but I'm assuming you are using the charge pump to flip the polarity to feed germanium PNP transistors.   If that's the case, all you need is one polarity protection (MOSFET, 1N400x, etc.).   Place it right after the D/C input.   You just need to get the polarity right in the beginning......your circuit will take care of the rest.  Best of luck.
