Hey guys It's been a while.
I've been working on another dub siren.
Here she is so far. Looking for potential improvement ideas. Maybe a different type of VCO
Thanks for looking
ok so where is everyone using to upload images these days.

Imgur.com is nice. Or, you can click the "Add image to post" link immediately below the edit text box to use postimage, which seems to be more temporary.

Thanks Eric I used the link.
We want sound samples! We want sound samples! What do we want? SOUND SAMPLES! When do we want them? NOW!! :icon_twisted:
Without sound....well, it just never happened.... ;)
I'll do a demo for you asap.
meanwhile version 2 with a cd4046 vco

Its rough but nearly ready.

In the process of refining this. (More like over engineering.)
At the moment it has CD4046 vco
Op amp Luna style lfo with wave mixer pot
Electric Druid StompLFO lfo
Works Fine no problems mixing the lfo's via a pot into the vco cv input.
Continuing that line I'm gonna throw a transistor PSO in the mix and see if it's worth the parts as there's room to spare on the pcb.
Now my dilemma is the potential lfo switching.
I'd like to mix any two of the lfos
Use any single lfo alone
Have a no lfo (manual vco cv) option.
1cv input
7 input options
lfo 1+2, lfo1+3, lfo2+3, lfo1 alone, lfo2 alone, lfo3 alone, manual
Got any ideas what style of switch might be good for the application.
Thanks guys
Ps enclosure space is not an issue.
Nice work Rich!

The pso added nothing that the stoplfo couldnt do and the same for a cd4093. So they got scrapped.
Negating the switching dilema.
I think I've done enough on this now for a proto build.
Chocks away.
For the Stomplfo wave form selection I planned to do it via switching, rather than pot.
I've ordered some 8 pole rotary switches.
But I'm bored with that idea before they have even arrived and I'm not sure that's the look I'm going for.
What alternatives are there? Push buttons matrice?
8switches in a row. When one is activated the others are deactivated. Don't even know what that's called.
Cheers
Switching schematic as is. For reference.

I think they are called radio push buttons. I looked into it briefly while I was figuring out how I wanted to build my aion Blueshift (Dimension C clone). Someone actually did go ahead and use a set for a pedal, but I cannot recall who. They are generally modular, with a crap ton (or crap tonne in metric) of contact options and lockout options (I think that was the term for preventing two buttons at once). Someone else will have to fill in the details I am forgetting, including where to get them.

Guilty as charged! Found them lurking on eBay - can hunt them down again if you need, Rich.
Ooooh yes please Marc. Have look at your purchased list for me.
I like the idea. I wonder what the button options are?
Cheers mate
Will drop you a PM, mate. :)
Cheers Marc
Kipper, can you pass the last version of your schematic?
I'm gonna do it on eagle and making a PCB for it and i want to build it, it looks so nice!
I've been learning the past 6 months and i already built two differents designs and i'm trying to learn as much as possible, i'm so new in all of this
Can't wait to make the latest desing, try to fit in a PCB and order that PCB to some China website, get it and build it.
Thanks in advantage!

Hello Tom!, i've come across you again :)
Look like your famous STOMLFO chip is used again in a siren
Just wanna say hello and thanks again with all the help in this months :)
You can build the schematic in reply 6 should work fine.
Fairly confident that's what I had on the breadboard.
You can add a tremulus lune lfo with ramp mod
And send its output to an outside lug of a B10k pot.
Send the Stomplfo output to the opposite outside lug.
Then the B10k wiper to lug3 of the slide pot.
Clear as mud.
Not for commercial use. This is diy.
Have fun.
