Hi,
I swear, I did at least 45 minutes of research on the forum. :)
Ready to dip my toes into the world of fab. For schematic to Gerbers, do I choose Eagle or Fritzing? Considerations:
- Free?
- Easiest? I don't see myself doing much more than our "typical" boards. I assume those are dual layer, right? Is that side A (typically components) and side B pots, switches?
Thanks all!
Fritzing is aimed at "designers, artists, researchers and hobbyists", AKA it has a limited toolset and uncommon workflow that don't translate as well to a "professional" ECAD package.
EAGLE is (arguably) a professional package with some restrictions in the free version.
Why not KiCad? DipTrace? EasyEDA? How did you end up with these two as your options?
Good question - and sure, why not? I am hoping for a free solution, I'm not going to be doing this a lot. (so he says...)
