Title: Visual Sound Route 66 V2 Noise mods
Post by: Yazoo on March 20, 2023, 05:14:05 PM
I bought a Visual Sound Route 66 V2 and was told it was noisy in the auction description. It's version 2 dated 2010. There is a noise gate switch accessible only when the pedal is disassembled. I switched it on but I can't hear any difference. Are there any known mods to reduce the noise? I did see someone advertising a modification service in the US which mentions it is based on work by Brian Wampler.

What's a Visual Studio Route 66 V2? Do you have a schematic?

It's a two in one pedal combining basically a Tubescreamer type overdrive and a compressor. I haven't got a schematic for it.  :icon_sad:

That should be "Visual Sound".  (Or these days, "Truetone".)  Microsoft definitely wouldn't have allowed "Visual Studio"...   ;)

Ooops, what would Bill say. I guess a bug crept in somewhere. Title amended, version 2.01.
