Title: LM237 instead LM337
Post by: spoontex on August 29, 2023, 06:22:10 AM
Hi,

Can I use an LM237 instead a LM337? I look at the datasheet but I can't see the differences.

Yes, you can use it.. :icon_wink:

Main difference is operating virtual junction temperature (LM237 exhibits wider margins) and minors are RθJA & RθJC as well as better output regulation for LM237..

The numbering system goes like this:

LM137 = military temperature range = -55°C to +150°C
LM237 = industrial temperature range = -25°C to +150°C
LM337 = commercial temperature range = 0°C to +125°C

The LM137 and LM237 have identical better specs for line and load regulation and accuracy of the reference voltage and a lower minimum load current.  What you have is an improved spec version of the LM337.

Thanks for the feedback.
