Title: Modifying Decimator kit for less gain?
Post by: henris42 on February 10, 2025, 02:34:27 PM
Hi, I got a decimator clone kit from this site: https://guitar-electronics.eu/en_US/p/DECIMATOR-G-STRING-PCB/230 (https://guitar-electronics.eu/en_US/p/DECIMATOR-G-STRING-PCB/230)

I actually plan to connect it to a noisy drum machine (Atruria Drumbrute Impact) instead of a guitar, so I was wondering what would be the best modification to reduce gain. I assume its probably needed?

Hello and welcome.
Why would you assume that? The gate nominally has unity gain when it's open. It also features a trimpot (RV2) to tweak the level.

Oh, OK. It was based on some articles claiming its not suitable for line level.
So I'll try it out as stock first and see how it goes!

Thanks!
