Title: anyone ever tried two miniboosters in a series?
Post by: nightingale on December 10, 2003, 11:18:48 AM
hello everyone~
i just got to thinking... i really like the tone coloration that jacks minibooster(j201) adds... has anyone eve tried two mini boosters in series? i thought it might be a great tone to solo/lead with, when you step on the 2nd one... i plan on breadboarding a 2nd one, but i don't have any j201's @the moment...
might be a cool expierment tho,
best,

And a lot of other versions. The miniB also figured in several circuits that were essentially tube amp stages with the triodes replaced bij a Mu-amp.
Go for it, see what you come up with!

Hi Ryan,

Check Aron's Booster 2.5  or Doug Hammond's Sweet Thing and Sweet 16. They are all three cascaded miniboosters.

Check here (http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/schematics.html) for the schematics.

Bye,

Joep

Also the Brown Sound in a Box gets good reviews.

The Sweet 16 is one of my favorites.   8)

Yes, I made the Booster+ (3 of them in a row), the Booster 2 and the Booster 2.5 (which had 2 of them in a row).

I don't use the mini-booster circuit much anymore although it is a great circuit. (Thanks Jack!)

I think that the Shaka HV, Shaka Express, Doug's newer pedals showed that it is possible to get a good tone with single JFET stages provided you work with them correctly.
