Title: tonepads tubescreamer...
Post by: wulla on February 08, 2004, 05:49:26 AM
Sorry for the dumb question but...

In the schem for the tubescreamer from tonepad I cannot see a footswitch. There is no footswitch in the parts list. Can anyone help me out here? thanx.

The switch is in the schem.  It is represented by the angled lines ending with arrows that come off of the input and output jacks.

It isn't shown in the layout, but the in and out pads are labeled.

edit: Sic is right , though.  GGG is generally a bit more beginner friendly.

I was in the same boat when i 1st started and although tonepad doesnt ussually show the switch wirings its a great site to come back to after learning from GGG site. GGG friendlier to beginners, i think.

I get quite a few questions on the 'other' offboard wiring, so I made this project available:

I hope it helps!

Title: I for one LIke 'bare' schematics
Post by: petemoore on February 09, 2004, 01:42:21 PM
after getting a couple TBypasses wired, it becomes second nature.
I find it easier to build ckt's using 'bare bones' schematics with no jacks or bypass switches shown.
I've passed over a building a few ckts because millenium bypass is 'mixed' in and I don't use them and find it confusing to separate the bare circuit from the MB portion.
Most schematics are easy to read, but some add so much 'wierd' stuff [those folded and convoluted switch wirings that read like a complex maze]...
I still haven't figured out how the PS wiring works on the Bear Face...don't need the indicator or the FF [ I have one]...the switch wiring couldn't be more confusing [fortunately I know to look for 'standard' places for inputs.
But, How DOES one power an OA with a PNP FF [pos Gnd.] using the same power rails?    ...or is that an NPN FF?
