Has anybody had a chance to try these yet? I just put in a request for a free sample from Analog Devices, we'll see if they actually send some to the bedroom "corporation" of TransmogriFX...
They are expensive from Digi-Key (over $6.00 a chip), but if they are what they are cracked up to be, it may solve the switch pop problems of my Sample/Hold filter without having to get extra creative.
I am still somewhat pessimistic about getting free samples, but if AD does send them, then my question will be answered when I pop them into my S/H circuit...
...So...
any comments about this IC would be very much appreciated before I go spending $30+ for a handful IC's.
:o There is circuit in some 1996 Elektor Magazine and Elektor "306 Circuits" book
These caught my eye too, Rapid in the UK sell them. Thing that put me off (apart from price!) was the supply voltage - min 11V from a single supply (well, according to their catalogue, I didn't check the data sheet).
I'm not very concerned about the power supply requirements. It's easy to design a circuit around that. I'm more concerned about performance.
I got a confirmation from AD that the free samples had supposedly been shipped, due to arrive March 1 by their estimation...so if anyone is looking for a place to look for free samples...
They obviously know UPS as well as I do. They marked ship date as Feb 25 via UPS 1 day air, and expected date of receipt March 1.
That right there is the epitome of UPS 1 day air. There's a reason FedEx is more expensive.
