Title: ruby stack, a la Marshall
Post by: keko on July 26, 2004, 05:24:11 PM
Hi, I'm building a Ruby practice amp, and have a question about speakers. I already built the enclosure, featuring mixed speakers two 50W 4? and two 45W 4? (car stereo, in case you were wondering). I am powering using a PS unit, so it should handle that power ok.

So I have to questions:

1)What does the Ruby likes better:
4? --> (4||4)+(4||4)
or
16? --> (4+4+4+4)
or
10? -->(4||4)+4+4

2) Wich pair of speaker should go first, the low powered, to limit the input, or the high powered? I think the latter (I know 5W of speaker power ain't much a difference, just asking on the theoretical side)

Thanks a lot!

ps: I'm planning on building all this into the chassis
fetzer (hi gain, already built) --> peppermill --> thunderchief --> ruby
