Title: Need Help ... Anyone know what these are ??
Post by: Melanhead on March 28, 2005, 06:37:30 PM
Well, first off, this is a great place! ... I'm a newby to modding pedals but have modded tube amps for years ( just for fun of course ...) and stumbled across these circuit boards in my junk droor. I bought 'em up a long time ago from the service department of a music store I once worked in and figured I'd get around to wiring 'em up but I'm not sure what they are :)

One is an MXR and the board says "Studio Sounds" on one side and OD1a on the other shown here: IC's are 2 LM741 and 1 4013a

The other is a big mystery... All that is stamped on it is 999 or 666 depending how you look at it :) ... shown here: IC's are 3 SM72558p

As well as these boards I found 2 early 80's Boss OD1's, 2 Dynacomps, 3 Phase 90's and 3 Distortion Pluses ... I think they're all early 80's...

The OD1's both work and I'm using 'em ( slightly modded ) and 1 Dynacomp... I haven't spent any time on the others yet but should be fun ... just wish I had the boxes!  ...

Any help would be appreciated as I've scoured the internet and can't find any info...

Thanks ...

First PCB ist from an MXR_Bluebox

Second PCB is a 4-stage FET-Phaser, maybe a  MXR Phase 90 or something similar from Ross etc.

I'll dump this PDF here for a few days.
it was sent to me by another user on this group. it is not 100% the same, as the board you have has a hardware bypass, not a flippy-floppy one like on this schematic, but, it's near enough.

I hate you!!! You lucky butt! That's an AMAZING find. Even if you just boxed everything up, that's like $700-800 worth of effects. Use them wisely man...some of that stuff is like treasure to some people.

Cheers,

Nish

Yup! ... I should be able to get most of it running again, but I'll have to buy a bunch of boxes :) ... Luckily I do have a bag of 80's MXR pots.

I'm just getting back into pedals again after selling most of 'em on ebay a few years ago ....

had kids and gave up some hobbies ... for a bit :D
