I saved about 50 of the 'one directional communication devices' (well, dont know exact word for that) they are kind of very old desk phones that I spotted some parts inside.
So I would like to know if they are of any use on pedal building ?
2N5115 -googled that this is a p-channel jfet might try on boosters or overdrives. It looks like germanium transistor.

If you are lucky, might be in wah inductor range.
Or you could use in a ring modulator, possibly.
Or in one of those old single transistor audio oscillators.

This chip is used in almost all octave-down generators ( example: the MXR Blue Box) and in many other applications where you want to latch one state or the other (See: "A Remote Indicating Footswitching System" at GEO).
for the final one.... the 2N5115 is a p-channel JFET that is unfortunatly not very sensative. Vgs=3 to 6V. For a J201 it's more like .3 to 1.5V.
They're low gain, but if you drive the hell out of them you may have something. :D
