Title: mobius trip looper...almost there
Post by: John Lyons on May 16, 2005, 08:16:13 PM
Ok, I have the PCB all populated and ready to go.

When I made my small bear order I didn't order the 4001 chip. Not something they carry. WHat is the chips function actually?

I need to find the 4001 chip but I need to know what it is first. Does anyone by chance have an extra they can spare...I'll pay whatever the cost plus shipping...

Any tips from the folks out there who have built it?

Thanks

John

The 4001 is a logic chip, with four NOR gates. It has 14 pins (three pins per gate, two for V+/V- I believe). Dean said I could probably get them here locally, and if I can get it, you can probably get it at an alectronics store near wherever you are. If you use a sub four NOR gate chip, check the pinouts.

Thanks Ryan.. for the info

I'm kind of in the middle of "nowhere" . Maybe radio shacK????? Mainly just a matter of not wanting to place a mouser order for one part...and pay $ for shipping a tiny part.

I live in a Canadian city of about 200 000 people, and our main electronics store either has it or can get it. I suggest you look for something local. There has to be someone around. Maybe radioshack can order/locate one for you.

radio snack probably does stock that part.  it's pretty common.  popular cmos logic chip.
