The Colorsound Inductorless wah only takes two lugs of a pot, and 80k is pulling a full sweep effect out of it.
Getting that to a treadle was very easy, with a little moddy forethought.
Instead of trying to get a 100k pot to travel the whole way, but not too far, driven by a treadle got replaced by a 500k using about 1/4 of the travel.
I drilled a hole through the potshaft, stuck a ziptie through so it's sticking out one side, fastened a length of popsickle stick to it with zipties, and connected the other end to the treadle [through it] with...you guessed it...a ziptie end.
The rocker pedal I had made before, using the 'sprung string' [ernie Vol pedal type] design, but building this 'lever type' potshaft/treadle drive took only about 20 minutes, and it works perfectly. If I wanted more travel/less effect I could tag a parallel R to the pot !! Also it takes up as much room as the potmount, only adding about 3/4'' needed clearance for the shaft rotation.
The ziptie bends over about 1/3'' stretch, I think it can take a lot of bends before breaking, that would be the weak point to 'adress' if I thought it needed reinforcing.
The pedal/sweep action is smooth.
I find it a bit surprizing that no limited travel pots [the shaft only turns 1/4 or 1/3 turn for full variable Resistance of the pot value]...this makes it much easier to remotely drive the pot !
Try It!! ...[comments welcome]
