Ok I have a 0.7v clip voltage for SI and 2v for LED in series. I understand that the new clip voltage will be 2.7v but what happens when this point is reached:
Do both diodes turn on? Or is the first in series clipped then that signal is fed into the diode?
My thinking is as follows; if SI is first in series with an LED, and my voltage is 1v - the SI clips by 0.3v. Then the resulting voltage is passed onto the LED which doesnt clip because it requires a total of 2v passed into it to clip?
Can anyone clear my head on this!

After the 1v is clipped by the Si, there is .3v left. Since this is not enough to turn on the led diode which needs 2v to start conducing, NOTHING will get past the led diode, it will be like an open circuit (well, sort of). So there will be no clipping and no signal passing through the diode.
