So I built the PWM last thursday, I'm always so amazed how a few parts make a HUGE sound. I Included the LFO add-on as shown on the schematic, which adds a neat warlby yow yow to the sound. It will sustain sometimes, when you're playing lower on the neck, but for the most part it squelches sustain, and has a fat fuzzy sound. I like this one, not as insane as the uglyface, but has more charecter than the auto crash i built. I made the LFO footswitchable, the circuit sounds pretty nice without it as well, but hmmm, something's still missing.

so, i take a look at the schematic. hmmm that 386 front end looks a little familiar, but a little bare bones. i think envelope control. the envelope mod adds the little extra oomph that i wanted, and makes the huge fuzz more animated and less overbearing. the Uglyface envelope control can drop right into this circuit. 3 or 4 parts, a 2.2uf cap, a 1k pot, a vactrol(or separate LED/LDR like i used) and that's it.
I did up the parts point to point, and used a small scrap of perf to hold my LED/LDR, if you are using a vactrol, it makes it even easier.

the (+) end of the 2.2 uf cap goes to pin5 of the 386/pin 1 of the 40106
the other end goes to lug 3 of the 1k pot
the LED goes across lug 2 and ground
lug 1 of the pot is grounded.
the LDR goes across the pulse width pot.
easy and teensy, fit in there no problems at all

and here's the front, the middle knob is the sensitivity control.

Thanks go to TIm E for his great circuits, I think I've built half of them so far and all have been outstanding.
