Title: Swapping a Potentiometer??
Post by: chaddhamilton on October 21, 2005, 04:10:26 PM
Hi, I used the forum's search function first and didn't really find any answers....
I have some extra parts and was going to build a Clean Machine tonight.  I don't have a 250K pot, but I do have a 1M. From my understanding, by using this, all of the "control" will be in the first quarter turn of the dial, no?  Am I correct in this?  I there a way to make a 1M work as a 250k?

Thanks alot,
Chad

Wire up a 330k resistor to the outside lugs of the 1M pot. It'll give you (approximately) 250k.

Excuse me, but won't that mess with the taper?

Shouldn't that be to pins 1 & 2 (1 outside + middle wiper) ?
