Title: What to do, what to do...
Post by: Aurin on November 02, 2005, 10:27:14 AM
So I ripped a transformer out of an old TV for parts... primary reads 700 Ohm (printed on the packaging) with the secondary at 4 Ohm with a center tap ....  That, a bunch of resisotrs, some diodes and some pots and a couple salvaged capacitors are all I have left after making my ruby amp.

Suggestions on possible uses welcome ;-)

well, I say this, you're keen! I don't know of too many people who go to the extent of salvaging resistors... but hey, want not waste not!

Now, the transformer, if it's large enough, disassembleable (is that a word) and meant for a mains voltage primary, you might have a candidate for rewinding and making yourself a custom Spyder power supply.

Hmmm... hadn't really thought of a power supply but I really don't want to sit winding coils around the bobbin heh.... S'why I haven't wound my own pickups yet.... Ah well, I'll figure something out ... thanks for the suggestion though!
