I am wondering what pin is 1 on a potentionometer with three pins.? trying to make a od-1.

in most layouts pin (lug) 1 is the lug farthest to the right when looking at the pot from the bottom with the lugs pointing down. check out the layouts at GGG www.generalguitargadgets.com (http://www.generalguitargadgets.com) if this doesn't make sense. welcome to the forum!

I've always hated pot pin numbering schemes. Never could remember them.

I could remember which pin was the clockwise one when facing the shaft, though. The one convention I liked on schematics was with an arrow across the wiper pointing toward clockwise rotation. Easy, simple.
